Description
A single lacquered wall for a working room, built on the premise that the animal should be able to stay through a long desk day — so the resting chamber is part of the study joinery, at the working end of the desk, rather than a bed left in a corridor. The chamber sits under the desk return at floor level. Two slatted doors on concealed hinges close it into a defined, quiet territory and open flat against the carcase when the animal comes and goes; slat gaps are set to your companion's head width so air and sightlines stay continuous whether the doors are open or shut. Inside is a removable ivory mat on a sealed, wipe-clean base with a radiused scallop at the front edge, so entry is a step rather than a climb. Because it opens toward the room and away from the desk knee space, the animal can watch the household while the chair stays clear. Above it, the study runs uninterrupted. A brushed stainless back panel with a floating glass shelf holds the desk zone; open bays to the side take books, journals, and folios; and a shallow drawer bank runs the full width of the desk line for stationery and cables. Chamber width, internal height, slat spacing, mat depth, and scallop radius are set from your companion's measurements and resting posture; desk height, shelf spacing, and bay widths follow the room and your own working habits. The vermilion lacquer, brushed steel, and ivory textile shown are one direction rather than a fixed specification. Suited to studies, home offices, and library-studies where the companion should remain in the room through a full working day.

START MY BRIEF FROM THIS DIRECTION“We'd tried every standard dog bed and cabinet—nothing survived our golden retriever or matched the room. This is the first piece that looks like it was designed for our house. Our guests don't even realise it's a dog bed—they just ask where we got the furniture.”
