A low blush retaining rail across the mouth holds the fleece mattress in position and keeps it from being dragged across the floor; a recessed inset pull in the rail lets the whole base slide out for cleaning. Every front is handleless with a routed grip edge, so there is nothing for a passing animal to catch on.
