Description

A dining-room credenza with softly radiused ends, sitting against the room's tiled feature wall. It holds everyday dining service on both sides and gives the companion a resting position at the centre of the piece rather than a bed left on the floor of the room where the household eats. The middle bay is left permanently open as the resting alcove — no door, no mechanism. It is lined in walnut on all faces, with a removable stone-toned mattress set on a raised platform and a radiused scallop cut into the front edge so entry is a step rather than a climb. Left open on purpose: in a dining room the animal needs a position it can enter and leave quietly during a meal, and the open bay reads as the credenza's central recess rather than as a crate. Set between two closed bays, under the marble top and above the marble plinth band, it stays shaded and enclosed on three sides while keeping a full view of the table. Either side, curved walnut doors on recessed brass inlay pulls enclose deep storage with adjustable shelves for linen, flatware, and serving pieces. Slim brass inlay lines mark each door edge and the alcove opening, so the resting bay is framed as part of the composition. A honed black marble top runs the full length as a serving and display surface, with a matching marble band at the plinth that lifts the whole carcase — and the sleeping base — clear of the floor's cold layer. The radiused ends keep circulation easy where the room turns toward the table. Alcove width, internal height, platform height, mattress depth, and scallop radius are set from your companion's measurements and resting posture; bay widths, counter height, shelf layout, and end radius follow the room. The walnut, black marble, and brass inlay shown are one direction rather than a fixed specification.
